Up home to supper. Bertha and Mable there. Ma very sick & alone. Bess and I came home early and stayed until 9:45. Snowed nearly all day.

Bertha and Mable. No one names a child Mable anymore. When was the last time you met a baby named Mable? Why is Ma alone? He just played cards with Pa a few days ago...

I really wish this guy was more talkative! I want to know why Ma was alone, too. Was Pa out of town? Mad at Ma and left the house for the day? At work? Was Pa dead?? I have to know!
I actually love the name Mable. Adorable! (Maybe there is a reason I had all boys?) The name Bertha makes me think of a fat aunt or something. I have no idea why... I have no fat aunt names Bertha, and I don't know anyone who does.
Well Pa is not dead, I know that much!
Yes, I probably should have mentioned that no one names a baby Bertha anymore either!
I also wish he was a little more talkative. I like to think he's somewhere in the afterlife kicking himself and saying "I should have mentioned Pa went to jail" or something like that!
Haha! Does he ever get more talkative? It seems very clinical - almost like he is making observations and writing them in someones chart. lol
He doesn't get more talkative, but does get more interesting. There are only a few lines on each day and the diary is small so it really limits his space.
Maybe he is just being mysterious. Yeah, that's it!
Heck, I am interested now, so if it gets better, count me in!
Wasn't there a TV show where the husband and wife had a baby named her Mable ... Mad About You, Deanna says is the name of the show!
Of course she knows that.
